2022 Breeding Schedule

Smokey + Poblano
Due at the end of March 2022

They both have blue eyes and since the blue eyed gene is dominant their their kids should too.
Poblano is polled but Smokey isn’t so, there is a chance the kids will be polled.
This is Smokey’s first breeding with me but Carolina (on the breeding schedule below) is her daughter from her kidding last year with a different breeder.

Coffee Bean + Poblano
Due at the end of March 2022

Coffee Bean is not polled or blue eyed so the kids from this pairing may or may not be polled or blue eyed. Coffee does give us the most milk out of all of our does.

Roweena + Ghost Pepper
Due at the end of June 2022

We think that Roweena & Ghost Pepper would make some beautifully colored kids! Only Roweena is Blue Eyed but both of them are Polled so their kids should be polled and hopefully we get a blue eyed doe.

Carolina Reaper + Pinto Bean
Due at the end of June 2022

Fatalii + Pinto Bean
Due at the end of June 2022

Ember Pepper + Ancho
Due mid September 2022

We’re excited to see what coloring we get from this pairing. The tri-coloring on Ancho is beautiful. I wish he’d been a doe! He is polled but Ember is not. Let’s hope for some tri-colored, polled kids!

Fraulein + Poblano
Due mid September 2022

They both have blue eyes and since the blue eyed gene is dominant their their kids should too.
They are both polled and the polled gene is dominant so their kids are likely to be polled.

Cayenne + Poblano
Due mid September 2022

The reason why the breedings are staggered like this is because we do sell our goat milk products. I will be selling goat milk, goat cheese, yogurt, frozen yogurt and goat milk soap. We also drink the milk ourselves.
The staggering helps us make sure that we always have 2-3 girls in milk. From these breedings, depending on the displayed traits/genetics we do plan on retaining a couple of doelings. Our goal, based on product sales in 2021, is to keep about 4 does in milk at all times. This mean we will need a total of 16 breeding does and we will have new kids every 3 months or so.
Breeding doesn’t always go as planned and we may be replacing some of the does. For example, this will be the 3rd time we are attempting to breed Ember. She may not be fertile and this is the last time we are going to try.

If you would like to put a deposit down on a kid it is $50 and you will have first choice (after we decide which ones we are retaining). The price of the kids will range from $150-$400 depending on sex, genetics and if you want them registered. It is a non-refundable deposit but if there are no kids in a specific breeding that you want, we will keep the deposit and you can wait and apply it in the future. The deposit will never “expire.”
